ITINERARY

Day 1

  • Arriving Krakow airport
  • Private transfer to 4*hotel in Krakow
  • Accommodation in a twin/double room on B&B basis for 1 night
  • Leisure time

Day 2

  • Private transfer to Sandomierz
  • Commanding a high bank of the Vistula, Sandomierz is one of Poland’s finest architectural gems, its Old Town boasting an impressive 120 listed buildings situated amid lush vegetation and picturesque gorges
  • Sightseeing a sloping market squere (120 by 200 m) surrounded by delightful houses from the 16th-19th centuries, the Gothic-Renaissance town hall with decorative high attic and a sundial, Opatów Gate. With three other gates, it was part of powerful defences built during the reign of Kazimierz Great and is the only one that has survived
  • You will see also St.Mary’s Cathedral. Founded by Kazimierz the Great, the basilicas treasures include 15th-century Russo-Byzantine stalls and Rococo altars
  • Next monument is the Sandomierz Castle, another of Kazimierz the Great’s accomplishment, is built on the site of a 10th-century fort
  • Next we will go to the St. Jame’s Church-a top-class architectural treasure, one of the oldest brick constructions in Poland
  • The last place you will visit is the Gorge of Queen Jadwiga – the most popular place for a pleasant walk in town. Over centuries water carved in the soft loess soil a 500 metre gorge with steep walls which rise to 10 metres and are covered by lush vegetation
  • Accommodation in 3*Hotel in a twin/double room on B&B basis in Sandomierz for 1 night

Day 3

  • In the morning check out and transfer to Baranów Sandomierski
  • Sightseeing one of the finest Renaissance residences in Poland, this was designed by two renowned architects, Santi Gucci and Tylman van Gameren, and was owned by the great aristocratic families of Leszczynskis, Lubomirskis and Krasickis. The residence is set in a French style garden, which looks particularly beautiful in summer. Next transfer to Krzysztopór Castle. The village of Ujazd’s chief claim to fame is Krzysztopór Castle, brainchild of Krzysztof Ossoliñski, the governor of Sandomierz province. The most monumental and also the strangest ruin in Poland, its name derivesw from two huge carvings on the entrance tower: a cross and an axe, which was Ossoliñski’s coat of arms. The castle’s unusual design follows closely the structure of the calendar: there are 4 towers (seasons), 12 halls (months), 52 rooms (weeks) and 365 windows (days).
  • In the evening transfer to Krakow.
